"My son has really improved his skills. And though I know he does complain about some of the work, he is very proud of his improved skills."

Early Childhood Outreach
Your pre-school aged children may exhibit symptoms of learning disabilities or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which could develop into more serious concerns once they begin school. These symptoms may include difficulty identifying size, shape, or color; poor motor coordination; impulsive behavior; hyperactivity; or low tolerance for frustration.

St. Louis LDA offers early childhood services that can help determine if your young child may be at risk for learning problems. Through on-site observations of children in the preschool or kindergarten classroom, we can begin to pinpoint how your child learns most effectively. We then provide feedback to you and to your child's teachers about appropriate programming for children with special needs to ensure they have a plan for success as they enter their elementary school years.

Early childhood services include:

  • Observations of your child in the classroom
  • Individual consultations with a consultant/advocate
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Attending meetings at the school with you
  • Resource library in our office
  • Referral services
  • Parent/Teacher workshops (Topics)
