Early Childhood Outreach Program
Even young children may exhibit symptoms of learning disabilities or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which could develop into more serious concerns once they begin school. These symptoms may include difficulty identifying size, shape, or color; difficulty telling time; poor motor coordination; impulsive behavior; hyperactivity; or low tolerance for frustration.

St. Louis Learning Disabilities Association (LDA) offers early childhood services that can help determine if a young child may be at risk for learning problems. Through on-site observations of children in the preschool or kindergarten classroom, we can begin to pinpoint how that child learns most effectively. We then provide feedback to parents and teachers about appropriate programming for children with special needs to ensure they have a plan for success as they enter their elementary school years.

Early childhood services include observations of children, parent/teacher workshops, individual consultations, assistance with referral information, crisis intervention, a resource library, and an informational newsletter.
